"Imitating Life" |
|
I was born in 1975 in Eastliverpool,Ohio. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design in 1998. After leaving school I was worked as a freelance illustrator and animator. In 2000 I was recruited by Walt Disney Feature Animation in Olrando, Florida. I worked on such films as Lion King, Pocahontas, The Emporor's New Grove, Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear. I would have to say that the creative community at the studio is the reason for jump starting my career as a painter. Since 2003 and the closing of the studio I have been actively painting and I am currently writing a book on plein air painting called "Plein Air Made Simple"
I feel that painting plein air is the truest form of imatating life. Nature is a perfect design revealing the truth of light, color, Temperature, and mood. I am merely trying to emulate the pallet that mother nature has laid before me. Trying to capture a moment of time.
